Buoy counts literal design values only: colours, spacing, font sizes, radii and shadows written by hand where a token belongs. It deliberately skips icons and logos, email templates (email clients cannot use CSS variables), social images, tests and stories, and layout values like calc(), 100dvh or grid templates. Health is Buoy's 0–100 score. Value discipline (60) falls as hardcoded findings per component rise. Token health (20) asks whether there is a token system, the repo's own tokens or Tailwind's theme, and whether its tokens are used. Consistency (10) counts naming conflicts, and critical issues (10) counts colour contrast failures, accessibility conflicts and deprecated patterns. Each report lists its path to 100: the points missing and the change that earns them. A low score on a popular project is not a judgement on the team; it is what happens to any codebase with many contributors and no check at the PR. Want your repo here, or want it fixed?
